Basket of Cherrys
3ds max, Photoshop, VRay
April 2006

This is a basket of Cherrys placed over a typical exterior table:

Rendered with Vray, retouches with Photoshop (color, DOF, filmnoise)

Little making Of:

The cherrys were previous modeled, taken from 3Dcafe. I modify a few of them for randomize
purposes.

For place it in the basket, first I model a low-res version of the basket and I duplicate the
Cherrys, place it over the basket in several "floors". With Simcloth I have done a simulation
for the fall and place it "easily". Once I get it, I add a TurboSmooth modifier for add mesh
resolution.

To create the wires of the basket, I used a Hi-res version of the basket, and over it I add a
Particle Flow, making a movement of a thousand of particles arround the basket. Later I run a
Script that converts the movement of the particles in a Splines.

I adjust mapping, Shaders, etc, to match that I want to visualize. The ilumination of the scene

its a bluish GI, with a direct light with area shadows. For the reflex I used a HDRI.

The original render its 1920*1280 (3:2 factor) and from this, in Photoshop I retouch the color,
apply a DOF effect using the separate Z-Depth map, and I add a preset of film noise.

The final image its that you can see. Itīs far to be perfect, and probably have several errors,
but I am happy with the final result.
